-   Trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (1964-1967) after three years in the Civil Service.

-   Best known for his comedy roles in British TV.


-   Narrator for the audio book "Kipps" by 'H.G. Wells' (qv) (1998).

-   Played George in "Birds Of Paradise" at the Garrick Theatre, June 19, 1974.

-   In the play "Crimes Of Passion" at the Nottingham Playhouse Theatre (1993).

-   Played Biondello in "The Taming Of The Shrew", Nag in "Endgame" and Nipple in "Little Malcolm" while with the Young Vic.

-   Played John Barrett in "Dangerous Obsession" at the Apollo Theatre, November, 1987 and at the Fortune Theatre, January, 1988.

-   Appeared in 'Doctor Who: The Holy Terror' - an Audio CD. Played Eugene Tacitus.

-   Appeared in "The Brigadier And Uncle Mort" at the Lyric Hammersmith in 1988.

-   Occasional presenter on BBC Radio 4's "Listening Corner".

-   Played The Captain in "Robinson Crusoe" at the Wimbeldon Theatre, Christmas, 1987/88.

-   In the summer of 1986, toured with the stage show of "Allo, Allo" which transferred to the Prince Of Wales Theatre in the Autumn for a six month season.

-   Played Bobby Franklin in "Run For Your Wife" at the Criterion Theatre.

-   In the plays "The Government Inspector" at the Royal Exchange, Manchester; "Swan Esther" at the Young Vic and "The Woodlands Gospels According To Captain Beaky And His Band" at All Hallows by the Tower.

-   In 1979 joined the "Two Ronnies Stage Show" at the London Palladium and toured with them to Sydney and Melbourne, re-creating his illiterate 'Bunny Warren' from the television series "Porridge".

-   Played Felix Unger in "The Odd Couple" at The Royal Exchange Theatre Company, June 22-August 5, 1989

-   Participated in the "Listen With Mother" broadcasts on the radio back in the late 1970s.

-   Theatre: played "Senex" in the musical A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum at the National Theatre (Olivier), London, UK. August 2004 - November 2004. Written by 'Burt Shevelove' (qv) and 'Larry Gelbart' (qv). Music and lyrics by 'Stephen Sondheim' (qv). Directed by Edward Hall
